How the trial works

Four steps, about five minutes.

    Download and open

    Run the installer, or make the AppImage executable and launch it. No account needed to start.

  2. Step 2

    Create a business file

    Name your business and JASC creates an encrypted .jasc file on your machine. That file is your database — back it up like any other document.

  3. Step 3

    Use it for 30 days

    The full app, not a cut-down demo: clients, quotes, jobs, invoices, GST and reports.

  4. Step 4

    Activate when ready

    Buy a licence key, paste it into the licence screen, and the same file keeps going on up to 5 devices.

Does the free trial need a credit card?

No. Download the desktop app, create a business file and use it for 30 days without entering payment details.

Where is my data stored?

In an encrypted .jasc business file on your own computer. JASC Desktop does not upload your clients, quotes or invoices anywhere; the only thing it contacts our servers for is checking your trial or licence.

Can I use JASC without an internet connection?

Yes. The desktop app runs entirely locally. It validates your trial or licence when it can reach the internet and keeps working through an offline grace period after that.

Is there a macOS version?

Not yet — the macOS build is waiting on Apple code signing and notarisation. JASC Cloud runs in any browser on a Mac in the meantime.

How many computers can one licence run on?

Up to 5 device activations per business file.
