Terms of use

Last updated 5 August 2026

These terms cover the JASC website, the JASC desktop application and JASC Cloud. Using any of them means you accept these terms.

The desktop licence

  • A desktop licence is a one-time purchase covering one business file, and does not expire.
  • It may be activated on up to 5 devices for that business.
  • New business files run on a 30-day trial. When the trial ends the app requires a licence key before it will open the file again. Your data is not deleted and remains on your computer.
  • The licence is for your own business use. Don't resell it, share your key publicly, or redistribute the application.
  • Future major versions may be sold separately. Nothing here obliges us to provide upgrades beyond the version you bought, and nothing here takes away the version you bought.

JASC Cloud

  • Billed monthly at A$9.99 after a 30-day free trial. Starting a trial requires a card, held by Stripe and not charged until the trial ends.
  • Cancel any time through the Stripe billing portal. Cancelling during the trial means no charge; cancelling later stops the next payment and access continues to the end of the paid period.
  • The service is provided on a best-efforts basis. We don't offer a formal uptime guarantee, and you should keep your own records of anything you can't afford to lose.
  • Ask us and we will delete your account data after cancellation — see the privacy policy.

Your data

Your business data is yours. We claim no ownership over the clients, quotes, jobs or invoices you enter. On desktop we never receive it at all. How we handle what we do hold is set out in the privacy policy.

Free tools and guides

The calculators, templates and guides on this site are provided free and without warranty. They are general information, not tax, accounting or legal advice. We take care to reflect current ATO guidance and cite our sources, but rules change and individual circumstances differ — check anything material with your accountant or registered BAS agent. Documents you produce with the tools are your responsibility to check before you send them.

Acceptable use

Don't attempt to circumvent licensing or trial limits, don't attack or overload the services, and don't use JASC to break the law. We may suspend access where these terms are breached.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Because a 30-day trial is available before purchase on both products, we ask you to use it. Outside the consumer guarantees above, refunds are considered case by case — ask us.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to the consumer guarantees above, our liability for any claim relating to JASC is limited to the amount you paid us for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or lost data — which is why the desktop app keeps your data in a file you can back up, and why you should.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Australia, and the Australian Consumer Law applies to supplies made to consumers.
